At Haven Financial Advisors, we know choosing a financial advisor is a big decision. Below are answers to some of the most common questions we hear from prospective clients, as well as some you may not have thought to ask.

  • While Lancaster, Pennsylvania is where we call home, we work with clients all around the country. If you are from Lancaster, or the surrounding counties of York, Dauphin, Lebanon, Chester, or Berks, we always enjoy meeting our clients in person whenever possible.

  • We work with clients in many different stages of life. However, where we provide the most value, is for folks approaching or already in retirement, with investable assets between $500k-$5m.

  • There is never a right or wrong time to start working with an advisor. For some, the answer may be never! For most people, the years leading up to retirement are the most critical. The transition from the accumulation phase to the drawdown phase can be daunting. The big decisions around social security, healthcare/Medicare, Roth conversions, asset allocation, income planning, and tax optimization are crucial to get right, and are worth getting a professional opinion on.

  • Yes, Jon Lapp is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional. This ensures you will be working with an advisor dedicated to providing the highest standards of technical expertise and care.

  • We are a fee-only firm, meaning we will never receive any commissions for selling a product. Our fees are billed quarterly from your investment accounts, and scale down based on the level of assets we manage. We also offer flat-fee planning based on complexity. After an initial consultation to determine the scope of your situation, we provide clear and transparent pricing.

  • We do not offer hourly billing options, as we never want our clients worried about being charged for reaching out to us. We prefer to have deeper, meaningful conversations without keeping an eye on the clock.

  • There is a recommended starting point of $500,000 of investable assets to work with us. If you’re not there yet, don’t let that stop you from reaching out to us.

  • We use Charles Schwab and Fidelity as our primary custodians. If you already have accounts at these firms, it makes the onboarding process to work with us very seamless.

  • Yes. If you aren’t familiar with the term, it means we are legally required to give recommendations that are in your best interest.

  • Your dedicated advisor at Haven, along with an experienced team of portfolio managers at Belpointe Asset Management will be regularly monitoring, and proactively managing your accounts. Visit our “About” page for more background on our team.
